Enormous 800-Pound Shark Caught off Los Angeles

This huge mako was actually too large to be weighed with the marina scale.

Estimates for its immense weight place it anywhere between 800 and 900 pounds. It took six men to haul it up onto the dock. It’s not the largest ever caught by a long shot: the heaviest recorded mako tipped the scales at a whopping 1,200 pounds.
