Methane Lakes on Saturn’s Moon

Saturn’s moon Titan is the only other object in our solar system to have liquid lakes on its surface.

They’re not full of water, though. They’re actually lakes of hydrocarbons like methane and ethane. Cassini images have just discovered lakes the size of Utah’s Great Salt Lake near Titan’s equator. Scientists believe methane may act similarly to water on Earth, cycling through Titan’s surface and atmosphere.
