Oldest Map of America Discovered in Germany

This 500-year-old map is the oldest known global map to mention ‘America’.
It is believed to be the work of famed cartographer Martin Waldseemueller. His maps are extremely rare–one was recently sold for $1 million. Here’s another view of the map, cut out and folded into a globe:
