Yuka the Mammoth

Little Yuka is one of the best-preserved mammoth specimens ever found.

Experts believe that she may have been hunted by some sort of large animal predator, but finished off by humans. The hunters took some meat and bones from her carcass, then possibly buried the rest to come back to it later. They never did, and freezing temperatures soon preserved the remains, including long reddish-blonde fur.
